Magnesium deficiency (Mg)

A lack of magnesium in olive trees will first appear as chlorotic spots on leaves, which will gradually spread from leaf tip to leaf base. Young leaves may be affected by necroses and drop off; in serious cases length growth may be inhibited.

In order to remedy a lack of magnesium in olives it is advisable to apply sulfur in an easily absorbed sulfatic-form, such as EPSO Top®. EPSO Top® may be used either as a foliar fertiliser, or may be applied as a nutrient solution via irrigation system.
